For some bizarre reason I thought this was between Andy Tyrell and the Herberts and now everyones talking about the constitution and stuff which I try to leave behind me when I walk out of my law lesson and then remember again when I sit exams. Anyway, I hear about this discussion off Matt and although he nicked my email addy to be able to use this I used my alternative one to be able to join because THE NEW KID has pissed me off loads with his dumb ass comment about making drugs MORE illegal and saying stuff about the monarchy! So yeah, the rest of this is mainly a load of shit in reply to that... but it had to be said [img]smile.gif[/img]
1: Why would the monarch give Royal Assent to a bill which would firstly have to get the winning vote in Parliament to get rid of the monarchy anyway? She'd call a referendum to let the voice of the people decide and although the majority of people on here are saying that the monarchys shit, the majority of England are PROUD of the monarchy and the constitution we live in!
2: Why the fuck would you want to make drugs MORE illegal? Kids today are probably more likely to smoke dope because they think they're rebelling, thats why in the 70's more people smoked ciggarettes more than they do today, coz they're not following the law and breaking it in the smallest way possible... thus "rebelling against the system". If you made drugs more legal then there wouldn't be:
a) dodgy dealings where PEOPLE (not just kids) get ripped off which with harder drugs can lead to overdosing and what not.
b) half as many kids smoking shit like dope.
c) Little children finding dirty needles every fucking where because ther would be places wher junkies could go to do it, thus clean needles.
d) half as much AIDS in the world as people wouldn't be using each other dirty, AIDS infested needles and spreading the disease which has infected so many innocent people as well as people who do swap needles (although AIDS spreads for other reasons as well... but they're not important to my point so lets forget them (",) )
If you think I'm typing shit then i'm typing shit but look at places like Holland where ther are places for drugs and legalised prostitution, thers less chances of people finding dirty needles and so on and so forth. It takes the scum off the streets and puts it into places where no harm can come to the innocent. The trouble with Britain is that we think its wrong so we should punish those who do it and thats STUPID! it goes on, it always will, always has (especially prostitution) so you may as well accept it and make things like that MORE legal to take away the "rebellion" aspect of it as well as the scummy, seedy side away as well. Thus it makes it a safer environment and also puts kids education of what really is wrong and what is right down to the parents. That was what it was like when I was younger and it hasn't done me any harm because although I know I am only 16 I also know that going out and smoking ciggarettes which I can buy is bad for me! Kids ain't stupid, which also leads me on to things like teenage pregnancy. I know if I had unprotected sex then the likely scenario could be: I'd get a STI or i'd fall pregnant. My mum and dad taught me that, not some shitty school sex ed class, not the fact that sex under 16 is illegal but MY MUM AND DAD! So... therefore if you make things like drugs more legal it puts things to do with drugs being harmful down to the parents to teach and that should be what the parent does teach as well as morals, manners and how to live in this shitty world we call earth [img]smile.gif[/img] .

If the kids that are smoking cannabis now, to rebel, 'realize' that *if/when* its legalized that they are, in fact, NO LONGER rebelling they will move onto something that would be rebelling, such as cocaine. Call me a fool, but I'd rather have 1,000,000 kids smoking weed than doing crack.
This is the longest going for/against drug argument there is. Legalize it, people will move onto harder stuff. Dont legalize it, people will break the law. At least the people currently breaking the law are stoned and dont give a shit.

Besides..if people are stupid enough to do crack,heroin etc...then surely they deserve the punishment that addiction provides...as well as funding the police more to curb their twocking tendancies..

in response to the things abt moving on to harder drugs, that was my point, legalise all of it and put age restrictions on hard drugs and so on to make it safer, it goes on anyway so the gov't may as well put some control over it and make it that little bit more safer for the people using as well as innocent people who don't but get caught up in (like little kids finding dirty needles etc.)

Anyway, making all drugs legal is stupid. It would send out completely the wrong message that drugs are safe. Crime to fund drugs would still be the same problem as it is now and more people would suffer from drug abuse if it were more readily available. There are too many drug heads. People will still get addicted and there will be the same problem as there is now - but hey at least we get the tax right. Sorry but I don't do the horse and neither should anyone else.
The solution? Get all the kids to believe that they are taking drugs when really they are taking Cake - which is a made up drug. That way they think they are rebelling or conforming without any of the addictions. Noel Edmonds, David Ames, F.U.K.D and Bomb'd they all had the right idea.

the majority of stoners/pillheads/whatever do it because they're bored with everyone/everything going on. It's a stimulant which "intensifies" what's going on around them, making it seem more interesting. the same as getting pissed when you go out.
fuck it, i haven't got a problem with them as such, apart from the crime that invaribly goes along with "harder" drugs...and besides how the fuck else can you explain why Trance is so popular?
What about the Rehabilitation scheme that's being introduced for Smackheads? That one where they are provided with a safe needle + clean environment for free in clinics when they feel the need to go and then gradually get weened off the drug. i think its a blinding idea personally - at least when they take the drug they're safe and also can get medical help to get them off it + taking business away from the streets and inevitably the crime that goes along with it.
